In the paper a short review is proposed of different non-technical phenomena and agents that influence in a decisive way the durability of all kinds of structure, and particularly of concrete structures. Not only in Poland, but also in many other countries, increasing numbers of damages and various kinds of inadequate durability of structures are reported. As a result, premature unserviceability of structures is the subject of many litigations. A known semi-probabilistic format of limit states with partial coefficients for design of structural durability is developed that may help to consider in the design all these phenomena.
