Dynamic load tests of a shell-soil bridge made from corrugated plates

Damian Bęben , Zbigniew Mańko

Abstract

The paper presents results and conclusions of dynamic load tests that were conducted on the road bridge over the Mokrzyca stream in Wroclaw made of galvanized corrugated steel plates. The critical speed magnitudes, the dynamic coefficients, the velocity of vibration, the vibration frequency were experimentally determined. Conclusions drawn from the tests can be helpful in engineering practice mainly during the assessment of behaviour and interaction of this type of corrugated plate bridge with soil. The conclusions can not be yet generalized to all types of such structures. The detailed reference to all type of such bridge structures requires additional analysis (field tests and calculations) on the other types of shell-soil bridges.
