Dynamics of the track with steel wedge-shaped sleepers

Abstract
In the paper dynamic properties of tracks with steel wedge-shaped sleepers, called also Y-type sleepers are described. The increase of transversal rigidity of the track and its inertia by including the ballast to the motion with steel profiles is the main advantage of the Y-type sleeper's system. The solution already applied for tests on several segments designed for low and medium speed range and on experimental segments proves lower noise level comparing with traditional track and lower amplitude of vibration. Numerical simulations also prove good dynamic properties for higher velocities.
