Abstract

The paper presents the second part of the research on thermal movements of bridges published in “Drogi i Mosty”, no. 4/2004. Using numerical methods the thermal movement distribution in curved bridges was determined for different bearing systems. The numerical analysis was performed for three types of bridges concrete box bridge, two steel girders bridge and four girders composite bridge. Temperature distribution in cross-sections of bridges was calculated using finite element thermal analysis program FETAB and thermal movement distribution in selected bridges was calculated using ANSYS. An influence of radius of bridge curvature in curved bridges on distribution of thermal movements for different bearing systems was analysed.
