Analysis of rehabilitation possibilities of historical laticced arch bridges

Abstract

The paper presents the result of analysis made for renovation and strengthening of a historical arch bridge typical for the beginning of XX century. Presently all considered spans are in bad condition mainly because of the corrosion of deck steel structures. Truss arches except under bearing zones need generally a new painting. Two possibilities of revitalization were considered under the assumption that the truss arch structures stay as origin. Final conclusions are presented as a universal method of strengthening for this type of bridges. General drawings and representative diagrams from mechanical analysis are included.
