Abstract
The paper presents the concept of applying prestress and expansion to beams made of glued wood. Some examples of calculations of the aforesaid in the paper beams with pre-tensioned and pre-compressed cables show the possibility of increasing more the twice the capacity. The experimental examination of the 3.00 meters beam confirm the theoretical results.
