Elements of subsoil dynamics used in geotechnics

Stanisław P. Glinicki

Abstract

The paper presents test results that concern elements of subsoil dynamics Attention was drawn to existing relationships between subsoil parameters and phenomena that occur while execution of construction work as well as in a period of utilization of construction. The paper presents also relationships between: • deformation modulus of soil (medium sand) and relative density index of soil, • foundation modulus (medium sand) and dynamic deformation modulus, • proportions of deformation moduli and relative density index of soil (medium sand). In further chapters of the paper test results that concern medium sand are presented. Results enclosed following relatioships between: • proportions of deformation moduli (ED/Epo and ED/Ep.), and relative density index of soil (medium sand for thickness of layer a = 0.30 m and for thickness of layer 0.05 m), • deformation moduli of soil (ED, Epo, Ep.) and relative density index for medium sand, • foundation moduli of soil Epo, Ep. for medium sand and dynamic deformation modulus ED.
